High Winds Leave Thousands Without Power In Central PA
Almost 4,000 PPL customers are without power in Central Pennsylvania following a windy weekend. As of 10 a.m. on Monday, April 15, the majority of outages were approximately as follows, according to the outage map: Lockhaven 900. Bloomsburg 704. Selinsgrove 658. Mechanicsburg 1,103. At least one person was injured in a crash in Mount Joy on Monday morning, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. The two-vehicle happened on Hershey Road/Route 743 near Route 283 westbound around 7:15 a.m. on April 15, LCWC explained. At least one person was entrapped in a vehicle and one person was injured, but it is not immediately clear if those were the same person, if there were other injuries, and what are the extent of those injuries. A falling tree killed one person riding in a golf cart at a Pennsylvania country club this weekend, authorities said. It happened Saturday, April 13 around 3:05 p.m. at the JC Melrose Country Club in Cheltenham, where a tree fell on a golf cart, killing the person in the passenger's seat of the cart, local police said.
