Mom Killed, Daughter Injured In Suffolk Plane Crash Were Fulfilling Lifelong Flying Dream
A woman who was killed and a daughter who was injured when a small plane crashed on Long Island were fulfilling a lifelong flying dream.
Roma Gupta, age 63, of Whitehouse Station in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, died, while her daughter, Reeva Gupta, age 33, of St. Davids in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, remains in critical condition following the crash in North Lindenhurst on Sunday, March 5.
The plane’s pilot, New York City resident Fayzul Chowdhury, 23, of the Bronx, also remains in critical condition at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Nancy Canfarotta, of Valley Stream, died Monday, Feb. 20 at the age of 105, according to her obituary. A cause of death was not revealed.
Born in Manhattan on Aug. 24, 1917, Canfarotta was the oldest of three brothers and one sister. She married husband Charlie Canfarotta in September 1946, with whom she had three children, her memorial said.
The family later grew to include five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for a beloved, longtime music teacher on Long Island.
Lawrence Holdridge, of Amityville, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the age of 83 following a brief illness, according to his obituary.
Visitations will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., and again from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20 at Powell Funeral Home in Amityville. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.

A former councilman of a town in Northern Westchester who owned several stores in the area has died.
Joseph Albanese, who lived in Chappaqua and raised his family there, died on Sunday, Jan. 8 at the age of 90, according to his obituary.
Born in Bay Shore, Long Island in 1932, Albanese graduated from Yale University in 1954 and was a track and field letterman. He also served in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1959, and after graduating from Yale, spent two years in Yokosuka, Japan, and in the Korean War.
