Pound Ridge Divers Take 1st At Westchester Championships

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- The Pound Ridge Swim and Dive team finished in first place in the dive portion of the Westchester Country Diving Championships held at Lake Isle Country Club on Monday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 22.

More than 20 teams from around Westchester participated in this prestigious meet. Pound Ridge entered the meet with only three divers, and they all finished in the top 5. This earned Pound Ridge 17 points and the first-place spot, which was shared with the Rye Golf Club.

Pound Ridge's Leni Hibler earned the silver medal with 158.65 points In the 10-13 boys 1-meter diving category. His teammate Ezra Peterman grabbed the bronze with 157 points.

In the 14- to 17-year-old girls category, Rainer Hiblerm placed fifth with a score of 137.35.

The Pound Ridge Dive team is coached by Katie Simco and her assistant Sara VanTilburg.
