Bedford Central School District Budget Overwhelmingly Approved By Voters

BEDFORD, N.Y. – Despite a long and tricky process, the Bedford Central School District 2013-2014 school year budget of $125,057,000 passed with ease, in a vote of 1,568 to 621.

The budget represents a 1.92 percent increase over the current budget. Tax rates, due to the different equalization rate used by each town, are estimated to rise by 4.56 percent for Bedford, 0.68 percent for Mount Kisco, 2.30 percent for New Castle, 3.07 percent for Pound Ridge and 5.51 percent for North Castle.

 

Additionally, three school board seats were up for votes, all of which were uncontested. The candidates running were incumbents Jennifer Gerken and Suzanne Grant, along with Michael Solomon.
