The games, which were played at Bedford Village Park in Bedford, raised more than $5,000 for victims suffering from burns incurred during fires in the area. "The greatest thing to see was the camaraderie among the four fire departments.(Pound Ridge, Katonah, Bedford, and Bedford Hills) It was fantastic," said Gerry Russo of the Bedford-Armonk Rotary club, which founded the event. "There were no egos. It was a great event and everybody is looking forward to doing it again next year."

Russo credited several local car dealers for making generous donations to an event that saw every nickel raised go to the burn center. Katonah won the championship and received tickets to Sunday's game between the New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts. But everybody who played a part in the fundraising event was a winner. "It made for an enjoyable afternoon spending time with our neighboring departments," said Sam Dodge, Lieutenant, Pound Ridge Fire Department. "It offers us the opportunity to become better acquainted with each other on a more personal level." Paul Aquilino, who works for the Bedford fire district, said it was a great day.

"The kids got to play on the field and the trucks," Aquilino. "The games were very competitive, but everybody was respectful. The most important thing was that all the money when to help the victims at the Westchester Burn Center."
