Pound Ridge PBA Car Show Postponed Until Oct. 8

POUND RIDGE , N.Y. – The Pound Ridge Police Benevolent Association (PBA) has postponed its 9th Annual Police Officer Tom Pisco Memorial Car Show to Saturday, Oct. 8.

The show had originally been scheduled for Saturday, but has been postponed due to expected inclement weather.

This year’s show will feature a silence auction. Last year, there was over $10,000 in prizes raffled off at the event. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of a much needed motor for the Pound Ridge Fire Department’s rescue boat.  This summer, the department had an emergency medical water rescue on one of the town’s larger lakes that required four firemen to row the rescue boat for a half hour to a non-accessible location on the other side of the water. After loading two more passengers (the victim and a paramedic), they again rowed the boat back to the waiting ambulancel. Any additional donations will benefit the Pound Ridge PBA community programs.

Businesses or families that would like to donate vacations, TVs, merchandise, sports tickets, gift certificates, or services (oil changes, lawn care, haircuts, horse-riding lessons, etc.) for the silent auction, can write to info@poundridgecarshow.com.

Any business or family that would like to sponsor a $50 trophy can download a trophy registration form on the website, www.poundridgecarshow.com.  The $50 donation includes an engraved trophy with the business name or a family name that will be issued to winner at the show. The sponsor also gets a 2011 Car Show license plate to add to or to start a collection, as well as a thank you letter for their show of support.

Organizers are also still looking for vendors for the show. The cost is $25 per 10-foot table or tent for the day.

For $15, those looking to sell a show car can print a registration form online from the website and put a For Sale sign on it right on the field during the show.
