Abitare Designs, specializing in interior and landscape design, is planning to move into the space formerly occupied by Silhouette, on Westchester Avenue between Plum Plums Cheese Shop and the Pound Ridge Dry Cleaners.
Healing Home Foods will move into the space adjacent to the firehouse, formerly occupied by a deli. “I think most of their business is done through their website,” said PRBA Corresponding Secretary Ruth Mendes, “but you may also be able to pick things up at the Scotts Corners location.”
The space next to Juleigh’s Resale Couture, at 67 Westchester Avenue, is being considered as a location for a bookshop.
Although Mariella’s Wine Bar has closed, Mariella Medina's husband, Tony Spadaro, will become the new manager of Pound Ridge Wines & Spirits at 71 Westchester Ave.
The Bank of America, currently at 73 Westchester Avenue, will be closing its Pound Ridge branch in September. Anyone with a safe deposit box at the bank is asked to remove the contents before then. If you wish to transfer your items to another Bank of America branch, the bank is offering to waive the first year’s fee.
Deidre Lane and her daughter, Caitlin Shapiro, have decided not to establish a tea shop in the old Scofield barn on Westchester Avenue.
The PRBA is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The current membership is 50 and growing. “We’d love to get 60 members in our 60th year,” said Mendes.
