Potent New Storm Will Bring Rain, Damaging Winds To Pound Ridge

Thunderstorms forming in an unseasonably mild air mass in advance of a strong cold front could produce damaging winds Wednesday afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service said in a Hazardous Weather Statement.

Tuesday will be a partly sunny day with a high around 58, with rain moving in late in the evening and continuing through the overnight hours with patchy fog. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch are possible.

Rain and fog are likely before noon Wednesday, followed by showers and thunderstorms through midnight. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Wednesday's high will be in the mid-60s.

It will clear out Thursday with sunny skies, breezy conditions and temps in the low 40s.

Some snow is possible Friday.
