Is it me or Does John Buckley Seem a little Uptight? Who thinks he needs to Chill out and Relax? Does he feel that he is being Picked on? Does he feel someone is attacking him? Why the Hostility Mr. John Buckley? Is this what the Town of New Castle Residents want and need representing them? View Comment
Why are other County Legislators passing resolutions than? Read this one guys comment about the OATH he took. that says it all... Mike Kaplowitz is a Puppet For Cuomo... Just look at the Town He represents that says enough...The Man gives a Police Chief an Accommodation for services to Community even after he find out and was given documents that showed and proved some of the Police Department Personnel were involved in a pension fraud scam and under investigation by than A.G Andrew Cuomo. You do the Math my friend........Even a blind person can see the writing on the wall......

Sullivan County Legislature unanimously passes resolution against NY SAFE Act
MONTICELLO – Following a protest in front of the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello and public comment all opposed to the state’s new gun law, the county legislature voted unanimously to call for the NY SAFE Act to be rescinded in Albany.
The unanimous vote on the memorializing resolution came before a full house of approving citizens
Gene Benson and Cora Edwards were cosponsors of the resolution. For Benson it’s about the Constitution.
“I took an oath of office and I swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the State of New York,” Benson said. “That’s what I’m doing by enacting this resolution.”
The Oath Keepers of Orange and Sullivan Counties sponsored the protest. The name is in reference to the oath that members of the military, elected officials and other public servants make to protect the Constitution.
Making criminals out of law-abiding citizens, lack of a three-day period before state lawmakers voted on the law, criminals not following the ammunition limit, and the un-constitutionality of act were all cited Thursday as reasons to repeal it.
Legislative Chairman Scott Samuelson spoke about people’s right of assembly and freedom of speech.
"It’s American in action”, Samuelson said of Thursday’s protest. “It’s terrific when people band together for a common cause.”
Joe Collura spoke of the history of the 20th Century and government genocide against unarmed populations giving the Holocaust and Bosnia genocide as two examples.
“Every occurrence that I listed was prefaced by a series of anti-gun laws and legislation that disarmed the population,” Collura said.

Oh it has everything to do with a County Legislator. Have you not been following the news my friend? Why is it that All the other counties and its Legislators have all Adopted Resolutions saying they are not supporting Cuomo's Pathetic Excuse the "UN-Safe Act"? Why has Westchester not done the same? Gee i wonder? Kaplowitz Had opportunity to clean up one of the Towns he represents and he did noting after he was notified of criminal (Pension Frauds) activity taking place within its Administration. So lets not talk about his Morales or Integrity. He has none. Ever think He is just a Puppet for Cuomo? Truth Hurts Don;t It? Let me know if you would like case numbers and dates easy to find, go look them up......Than tell me how High and Mighty he is...... NOT..... View Comment
And What was or is his stance on Cuomo's pathetic Excuse of the "Safe-Act" or should say UN-SAFE ACT? Lets hear what he has to say on that Issue. Funny no Comment on that. Why is that? What's his view of the 2nd Amendment? How does he feel about what is going on and what people's Rights are? View Comment
Really??????
no one said anything about bubble wrapping trees. And certainly nothing about hay bailing open land... Learn to read my friend.... One or two hay bails in front of tree... Neat thing about hay is that when it falls apart it decomposes.
On another note my friend, when the kids are going down the hill which has no trees or rocks in its direct path of travel, don't you think their sleds might go off course. Its not like they are on a Luge course that has walls to keep them on track. We are talking about young kids here... I never said the Town did have an obligation, I simply made a suggestion that would make thing safer and more enjoyable. Yes speed can be dangerous, so can people who think like you. Show some consideration to others. Also Sledding is nothing like Skiing. Skiing you have a lot more control over where you can go and turn to avoid objects. Unless the sled you are using has some sort of steering device it will go where ever it wants to for the most part...... View Comment
I totally agree with above. It is the parents job to watch their children. But with that, I know as a Parent we can not be at our children's side 24/7 to protect them from getting hurt. That unfortunately is the ugly part of life. This I do know is that this could have easily been avoided simply by the Town putting Hay bails or some sort of Protective Barrier (Orange Snow Fencing) which I know the Town D.P.W. has, around any hazards. I do believe they did that in the past. That is just plain common sense which some of you already know that certain individuals in your Town Administration lack, along with Ethics or Morales. He like others just don't get it......I got a good question, When you go and purchase a Firearm does it say anywhere in the description that it is an " ASSAULT" weapon? NO it does not....It most likely says for Hunting, Sports, Target, Trap, Recreational use or Home Protection. It does not say for using to " ASSAULT" another individual. That is a choice that a Criminal makes when they ILLEGALLY obtain ANY WEAPON......That is a choice that someone with Mental Issues does, Not a law abiding, responsible person. Love it when he said you don't need 10 rounds to go hunting...Really????? I guess he never been Bear Hunting or Wild Boar hunting. Hope he can run really fast.....How many rounds does a shot gun hold? When you go Duck Hunting how many rounds do you load in? How many rounds do you carry with you?
Everyone is being played like a fiddle by them.....They are using those words "ASSAULT" and "AUTOMATIC".....Strictly to SCARE and FOOL those don't know the differences. Lies and Deceit\. Playing on the fears and Emotions of the Innocent for their own self centered political gain.
toddaclemmer you are spot on....... View Comment
Gerry Moerschell, New Castle's deputy commissioner of public works. Wait a minute. Penny Paderewski Promised all the Town Employee's down at the D.P.W at a meeting in the back lunchroom that Gerry Moerschell would never be back at the D.P.W or in charge of the D.P.W. A lot of guys down there all remember that meeting. Interesting he is back and Deputy Commissioner. I guess that just adds to the list of more lies and deception by the Town Administration. But that will come out soon enough when the time is right to uncover all that and expose them.....Can run but can't hide from the TRUTH.....Maybe you should inquire about this, go talk to some of the employee's present or better yet the past ones would be better suited to talk to since the Town can't hold it over their heads and threaten them in any way to stay silent. Oh but that topic on Bullying, Terrorizing the Employee's to keep their mouths shut will come out soon enough......"Matter of Time"...... View Comment
Oh Gee,
Once again something that would benefit the Millwood Residents gets a no go. Is it me or is there a pattern here? I bet if it was for downtown Chappaqua it would get the green light right away. Look how many times they redid the pocket park by Susan Lawrence. I bet you got more pocket parks and play areas in downtown Chappaqua than all of New Castle. How about the Famous Gazebo project that was a waste of money also and cost more than it should have but the Town Administrator along with the Town Board said ok. I guess Millwood does not matter to them.....You will always be second Fiddle to Chappaqua. There spending lots of money being spent in Chappaqua but none in Millwood. Oh wait you are getting sewers...Or are you? I guess you guys out there are the Black Sheep of New Castle, Outcasts..... View Comment
Oh Russell, Russell,
Disconnecting the smoke detectors is not overly bright there Chief.....So what happens when a fire breaks out in the basement or main floor or a wall where a heat detector is not present or near by? Since the smoke is going to travel a lot faster through the house or commercial structure upward mind you and since it always does the smoke detectors would come in real handy at this point. It is to bad that your members can't get up and do their duty that they took on when becoming a member. I being one have gone to plenty of these types of alarms.... yes it get played but to bad you owe it to your community. One thing you can do is set up a duty roster this way each night you have a different crew on call. It works great trust me.The members rotate nights and another the thing to do is make the home owner pay fines for repeat offenses. Also make sure that they have them maintained on a yearly basics. That would make a great drill for your dept. go and do house calls and remind people to check them and clean them....Think of it as easy points for you.....To say that they are not need is just well. (need i say it?) If you Don't like it and feel it is a burden than turn in the free car and free gas you use day in and day out and stop building up that nice pension your earning. I am sure there is someone else who would love to do it. Just saying.... View Comment
He stands for a lot of great things.
But the Real Question is What is his Stance on Corruption in Local Municipalities such as the one he just got backed by ? What are his feelings on this, and if elected what will he do to clean up the Frauds, Nepotism, Discrimination, Hostile Work Environment, Retaliation by high level officials and management on employees who file suits to protect themselves and their families, or stop the Bullying and Strong arming the Workers who try to stand up for themselves? Aren't those Important Things that effect the Tax payers? View Comment
Somebody needs to get their facts straight before they speak. It was not the late 1980's that the work was done on those pipes, it was some time in the early to mid 1990's, since i started working for the Town August 3,1992. and it was some time after that when Creamer Construction had started the work.
But what would i know? I only worked there and saw what was going on and what was taking place there. View Comment
