Is this request from Rye a joke? Rye breeds mosquito's with the help and backing of the Mayor, the City manager and the health department.

This hotel should have been closed by the County Health Department after the first 200 attendees got sick. The County Health Department has once again failed just as they have been failing to enforce the health codes for sewage and potable water on Hen Island in Rye. view the below video.

Please support Restaurant week there are some great deals especially in Rye eateries but as Rob Astorino shucks oysters in the Rye fish house, take a peek at the way in which Mayor Doug French of Rye allows the residents of Hen Island to treat the real oysters with sewage in our waters along the shores of Milton Harbor in Rye.

After watching last night’s City Council meeting, I would like to thank Mayor French, Deputy Mayor JOEvonavich, and Councilman Filippi for their consideration in making me realize that I was not the only one attacked and treated with arrogance and disrespect on a regular basis when approaching the podium at the Rye City Council meetings.
I feel comfort in knowing that I was treated with the same pompous, discord and unprofessionalism as Mr. Anthony Piscionere, Mayor John Carey, Mr. Larry Leman and the latest display of venom exhibited towards to Mr. Richard Slack at the last two council meetings. It’s nice to know that the likes of the change for Rye team are equal opportunity insulters.
Deputy Mayor JOEvonvich rather than practicing the pronunciation of your name, I have been focusing on obtaining the transcripts from your Sexual harassment trail with your ex employee Mrs. Judith Hill.

Mr. JOEvonvich I believe it is important that our residents know exactly who is attacking them in the City Council chambers. The Federal Court in San Jose California assured me we should have the transcripts shortly and I will be happy to share the most informative portions of them with the public.

After last night’s city council meeting I think we need to take a look at the only two that were trying to defend Mr. Pickup for his lack of oversight and his many attempts to protect Mr. Yandrasevich.
1.) Mayor Doug French who was accused with stealing tax money from Rye.

2.) Deputy Mayor Jovanovich who was accused of sexual harassment and violating securities laws.

Dear Mayor French,
After watching the City council meeting, I could not help but notice item # 3 from your fundamental principles for Rye in 2013:
“ A Renewed Commitment to Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness”
Are you aware that there are at least nine one hundred pound propane tanks that have been washed into Milton Harbor from Cottages on Hen Island after Hurricane Sandy?
The Hen Island Board of Directors has confirmed at least six of them in a recent letter. Additionally confirmed in that correspondence was the fact that the City of Rye has been made aware of the situation.
As you know, I have been publicly vocal regarding the still missing propane tanks that washed into the harbor during the “no name storm” in 1992 and I have been both ignored and then publicly chastised for raising this public safety issue for over a decade. (The same has been the case with West Nile Virus mosquitoes breeding in Island cottage water cisterns, untreated sewage entering the Sound from Island cottage cess-pits and cottage use of non potable water.)
If this issue of submerged missing propane tanks continues to be ignored, the tanks abandoned from 1992, and the 100 pound tanks lost in Hurricane Sandy, are directly akin to submarine type below surface antipersonnel mines - waiting for some innocent family out for a pleasure boat ride off the shores of Hen Island during the boating season.
The increased lethal dangers, legal exposure and liability from the past failures to admit and address this submerged propane problem has now increased by at least two fold due to the new 100 pound propane tanks that have been deposited by Hurricane Sandy. Please advise me and the other concerned Rye residents how the City of Rye intends to address this very dangerous situation with a renewed commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness?

Now it's time to charge the City manager and the City attorney with interfering with an investigation!

One look at the way Steve Otis treated Bob Schubert (A decorated 89 year old WWII veteran and the choice is clear.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-dF7HOFspA
In the below linked video Steve Otis allows the City attorney to attack Mr. Schubert. Is this how we want our citizens treated?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JXoSway7uo&feature=related
And here is one more example why Steve Otis is not a good choice for any leadership position. The reason for the firing, according to the council, was Shews, failure to communicate with the council and the mayor on projects.
But many who have followed the Otis /Schubert wetlands garden mess, as well as the other Otis environmental missteps (e.g. Hen Island), believe otherwise. Shew's highly questionable decision which may have been vetted by Otis to sic the Westchester County Department of Mental Health on Schubert is more likely the real cause for his being deep-sixed. Shew was Otis's scapegoat.

The WNV victim in this case lives 1.9 miles from Hen Island in Rye. The County Health Department surveyed the neighborhood around the man's home today and found no breeding sites. All they had to do was travel 1.9 miles and they would have found millions of mosquito's breeding on Hen Island.
Unfortunately the City of Rye (Mayor Doug French) and the County Health Department (Deputy Health Commissioner Morrissey) has made enforcement into a political football and now it is costing Westchester residents their lives. Please watch the below video.

I am sure you will be shocked, amazed and appalled after watching this video on how the City of Rye and the County of Westchester allow and encourage mosquito breeding here in Westchester.

Hen Island in Rye is home to Westchester County’s worst mosquito infestation. Every home on Hen Island illegally stores hundreds and sometimes thousands of gallons of water for domestic use. In addition, for years the high reed areas of the Island have been used as a dump site for debris that has washed ashore over the winter and during the summer. Trees that have been cut and pruned have been stored throughout the Island. Each one of these actions encourages the breeding of millions of mosquitoes. All of the above has been officially documented in a Westchester County investigation from 2007 and/or a City of Rye violation notice issued to Kuder Island on April 8th 2009. The City of Rye specifically addressed the mosquito infestation and put the Island on notice about their concerns as did a recent County report. To this date no actions have been taken to address any of the health and safety issues.
1.) In an area where West Nile occurs, the longer you're exposed to biting mosquitoes and the higher the concentration or number of mosquitoes at the location, the higher your chances are of acquiring the virus.

Rye Mayor Doug French along with the County Health Department once again is trying to make light of this situation and in many instances are lying to the public.
http://www.myrye.com/my_weblog/2008/08/health-commissi.html
The Rye WNV report is filled with untruths and omissions. The funniest one is the Health Inspector’s failure to disclose that they had to barrow mosquito repellant from island workers because they could not conduct their testing due to the heavy mosquito infestation present in the area where they were testing.
The water storage compiled with the lack of maintenance on Hen Island encourages the breeding of Westchester County’s worst mosquito infestation in history. Anyone who has visited the Island could tell you about the horrific infestation.

Hen Island is a 25 acre mosquito breeding site located in the epicenter of Westchester County’s West Nile Virus test result area. All 17 positive test results in Westchester with the exception of one located in Tibbits Brook park in Yonkers were centrally located within 5 miles of Hen Island. Mosquitoes are capable of flying 25 miles but are known to fly on average of 5 miles from their breeding site.
Please watch the below video on how Rye’s Mayor French and the County Health Department headed by Rye’s ex City attorney Kevin Plunkett has been avoiding enforcement for Years. It’s still going on people and their actions are risking the lives of our children and seniors every day.
