DOT Worker Fatally Struck On Hutchinson River Parkway

A New York State Department of Transportation worker was struck and killed on the Hutchinson River Parkway near the Westchester/Bronx border on Wednesday morning, police confirmed.

The NYSDOT worker was struck at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, officials said. He was struck in the shoulder of the southbound lanes of the parkway between exits 4 and 5 in the Bronx. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center following the incident, where he was pronounced dead.

According to multiple reports, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation into the fatal crash. No charges were immediately filed against him.

The name of the man struck has not been released. The crash remains under investigation and led to lane closures and delays on the Hutchinson River Parkway in the area.
