This year, the elegant public club, designed by the legendary Pete Dye, will accept bookings online, via smartphone or tablet, or by a phone call to the golf shop at 914-764-5771.
Updates on conditions and new items, as well as photos and videos, will be posted on the club’s Facebook page. Throughout the season, course officials will be offering playing tips on the page, along with contests and trivia.
“We’re excited to open our tee sheet a full two and a half months in advance of the peak season,” said owner Ken Wang. “Over the past five years, Pound Ridge has emerged as a true destination golf course, which fortunately requires an extended booking window. Our flexible rates are designed for today’s busy golfer, who is pressed for time but also expects a world-class experience.”
Off-peak rates of $150 before 2 p.m. and $100 after 2 p.m. will be in effect every day until April 28. Thereafter, rates will start at $120 for 18 holes, seven days a week. Same day call-in or walk-up nine-hole rates will start at $65 and be available weekdays and weekends.
All rates include a golf cart or pull cart, Pound Ridge yardage book, bottled water, player’s towel and use of the driving range, chipping area and other practice facilities.
The par-72 Pound Ridge Golf Club, opened in 2008, is a full bent-grass facility, considered by Golf magazine reviewers to be a visually stunning setting. The panorama includes cliffs, streams, rock formations, wooded hills and open meadows.
AskMen.com called it the No. 1 New York City Area Golf Course, and GOLF magazine and Golfweek both rated it among the best new courses in the country.
