Pound Ridge Swimmer, Divers Excel at Championships

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge swimmers and divers had a good showing at the Westchester County Swimming Association’s championship tournament earlier this week at the Rye Playland pool.

The Pound Ridge dive team placed second Tuesday in the Northern Westchester Swim Conference Diving Championships. Each team was allowed to enter one diver in each of the four age categories and all four Pound Ridge divers made it to the podium.

In the 13-and-under girls' category, Charlotte Henry won the bronze medal with a score of 89.80. In the 13-and-under boys' division, Leni Hibler won bronze with a 84.45. Sara Vantilburg won silver in the 18-and-under girls' group with a 104.30 and Heath Carmichael also grabbed a silver medal scoring 121.10. 

All of the divers are trained by Head Coach Katie Simco and Coach Connor White. 

Pound Ridge swimmer Billy Fierro-Joyce won the boys 17-and-under 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.39. This was Fierro-Joyce’s 11th year competing for the Pound Ridge swim team.
