The two teams met Dec. 13 at Fox Lane, with the Foxes picking up a 57-52 win.

The Foxes finished the season at 14-4, including the championship in the Dapper McDonald Tournament at Harrison to close out the year. Fox Lane defeated both Port Chester and Woodlands to win the tournament.

Fox Lane is an extremely guard-oriented team, led by junior James Morales, who transformed from sixth man on last year’s team to captain this season. The team likes to get out and run on the fast break, a stark contrast to last season, when the team ran much of its offense in the low post.

Ossining finished the season with a 10-8 record, ending it with losses to Mamaroneck and Briarcliff.

Much like Fox Lane, Ossining also is loaded with guards. Stephen Espinoza-Hunter, Noah Morton and Kayvon Murray have led the way for the Pride this season.

Despite the four-win difference in their records, both teams have struggled at times throughout the year. Fox Lane lost both of its games to Byram Hills, the top seed in Class A, while Ossining lost twice to Briarcliff and once each to Spring Valley and Peekskill.

The Pride and the Foxes have similar offensive styles and will be quite evenly matched Friday as a result. The team that makes fewer mistakes likely will advance to the quarterfinals.
