The Bears meet the Jets Monday at 8:30 p.m. at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Nugent is the Offensive Quality Control coach for the Bears. He joined the team last yearwhen he came with head coach Marc Trestman. Nugent was on Trestman’s staff with Montreal in the Canadian Football League.

The 30-year-old Nugent was captain of the Crusaders football team in 2000-2001 and an assistant at Stepinac in 2005 under current coach Mike O'Donnell. He also attended Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School in White Plains.

"We always knew Brendan would go on to great things. Brendan always had great leadership qualities and loved the game of football,'' said Mike O'Donnell, the Archbishop Stepinac athletic director and football coach. "Brendan as a youngster had a serious hip injury and doctors told him he could never play any contact sports. It's unbelievable the will of certain people to over come things and be successful."

Nugent also coached for five years at William & Mary.
