Pound Ridge Students Receive College Honors, Diploma

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. Two Pound Ridge students have received academic honors from their respective colleges, and another has received her bachelor’s degree.

Hannah Fuchs, a member of the class of 2012 at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., received Faculty Honors for the 2012 fall semester. To earn Faculty Honors, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of at least a 3.667 with no individual letter grade below B-minus.

Founded in 1823, Trinity College is an independent, nonsectarian liberal arts college with more than 2,200 students from 45 states and 47 countries.

Stephanie Oniffrey was named to the Dean's List at James Madison University for the fall 2012 semester. Students who earn Dean's List honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Oniffrey is a senior whose major is art history.

James Madison University, located in Harrisonburg, Va., was established in 1908 and is a comprehensive university that is part of the statewide system of public higher education.

The State University of New York at New Paltz recently conferred more than 600 undergraduate degrees. Kyra Fritz was among the university's graduates, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in adolescence ed: English.

SUNY New Paltz is a college of about 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students, located in New Paltz, N.Y.
