POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge Elementary has seen a significant upswing in the number of families sending their children to the school for the 2011-12 school year.

According to Susan Reiner, a clerk monitor at the school, more than 20 students, if you include kindergarten and Bedford Central School District residents who live in an another town outside of Pound Ridge, have joined the school.

However, if only Pound Ridge-based families with children of elementary school age are counted, the increase in the number of students remains similar to the 2010-11 school year.

“The number of new families this year, excluding kindergarten and BSCD students, is around eight,” Reiner said. “The same would be true for last year.”
