The students were picked from thousands of New York students vying for spots in the ensemble. Selection was based on individual ratings earned in the New York State School Music Association Solo Festival this past spring, school officials said.

Soprano Claudia Reino, a 12th-grader and Haley Siconolfi, a 12th-grader also will perform with the All-State Women’s Chorus. Performing with the All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble are Joelle Sandak, a 12th-grade soprano, Gianni Leone, a 12th-grade tenor and Marcello Carelli, an 11th-grade drummer who will round out the vocal jazz ensemble’s instrumental jazz trio.
