They are called "John Jay Football Tackles Breast Cancer" shirts, the district noted.

The team's motto, which is "As One," is on the back of the shirts, the district added.

"We thought it would be a good idea to get shirts to bring awareness to this terrible disease,” John Jay football coach James Clark said in a district press release.

In addition, according to the district, the Booster Club sponsored two fundraisers, which were during the team's games against Beacon and Yorktown.

"[During the Beacon game], the Booster Club partnered with the football team for the event, donating 20 percent of the gate that night,” Lynn Lee, whose son, Ryan Lee is captain, said in a statement. “The Boosters also sold pink rally towels to our fans, with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen.”
