BEDFORD, N.Y. – The Bedford Central School District Board of Education has announced the launch of BoardDocs LT, a paperless meeting management system for board meetings.

BoardDocs is a 100 percent Web-based eGovernance service that will make all meeting agendas and supporting documents available on the Internet. The community will continue to have quick and efficient access to agendas, supporting information and meeting minutes, at a reduced cost to the district and to the environment.

This system will replace the old and more costly method of compiling, printing, binding and distributing paper agenda packets by hand. Carole LaColla, district clerk, said it will enable the district to maximize the efficiency of its board meetings with continued transparency, while increasing productivity and saving thousands of dollars annually.

The new process will continue to allow the community to review information prior to board meetings. In addition, all documents associated with the meeting are automatically archived and can be accessed by meeting date or by using the system’s comprehensive search feature. Board members will also have access to best practices from other districts that are using the system through META search, which allows them to gain important knowledge about initiatives other boards have considered and implemented.

The change will take effect for the Dec. 14 board of education meeting. Access to all information for that meeting will be available no later than Monday, Dec. 12.
