Puppy Rescued By Police Reunited With Owners In Yonkers

Updated: The Yonkers Police Department reported that the dog has safely been reunited with his family and has been returned home.

This dog was found in traffic by police on Yonkers Avenue. It is now at the Yonkers Animal Shelter hoping to make its way home.

YONKERS, N.Y. - Police in Yonkers are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to reunite a dog that found itself in the middle of traffic over the holiday weekend.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon, officers with the Emergency Service Unit in Yonkers recovered a terrier that accidentally made its way into traffic on Yonkers Avenue near Dunwoodie Street.

The dog has been brought to the Yonkers Animal Shelter, as police continue to help it find its home. Anyone with information or who knows the dog’s owner can contact police at (914) 377-7900 or the Animal Shelter at (914) 377-6730.
