To the Editor:
We need Bonnie Schwartz on our Town Council for another 4 years. Her love for and support of Pound Ridge is consistently evident in everything she does. Understanding the importance of volunteerism is key to the health & vitality of our town, as Bonnie stated during the debate. She epitomizes that philosophy, not merely talking the talk. Bonnie is knowledgeable and realistic about the issues that face our town, such as the wastewater problems in our business district, the services our residents want compared to those they can live without, where we can streamline our government and share services, etc. As a conscientious board member seeking workable solutions, she has been instrumental in saving Pound Ridge taxpayers money with new ideas, such as proposing individual thermostats in our Town buildings. We need her energy and ability to reach out to others in addressing and solving the challenges that Pound Ridge faces.
Peter Marchetti may be a newcomer, seeking our vote to the Pound Ridge Town Council, but he is not new to serving our town. As a business owner and homeowner, he experiences first-hand these challenges our residents and local businesses grapple with. His involvement in our town stretches back years, from coaching youth sports to mentoring Boy Scouts to serving at the helm of the Lions Club. Currently, Pete serves us on the Water Control Commission. Peter will be a valued new voice on our Town Board.
I could write a book on what Dick Lyman means to this town –and what this town means to him. Simply put, many of our neighboring towns can only wish they had him serving their communities. We are fortunate to have such leadership, knowledge and diligence in the town house.
Please vote for Supervisor Lyman, Councilwoman Schwartz, Pete Marchetti and Debbie Damascus on Tuesday, Nov. 7th.
