To the editor:
As Election Day draws near, one issue that should be at the forefront of every New Yorker's mind is the extent of corruption in our state government.
Study after study has demonstrated that New York has one of the most corrupt state governments in the nation.
Yet, year after year, nothing seems to be done to stop it. Sen.Terrence Murphy has been a member of the State Senate's Ethics Committee since 2015, but has completely failed to introduce even a single piece of legislation to curb the corruption in Albany.
Instead of cracking down on corruption, he has given it a free pass. It's time for a change.
Ali Boak has vowed to fight corruption at the highest levels of our State government. If elected, she will sign the “Clean Conscience Pledge,” affirming her commitment to cleaning up Albany by advancing laws that strip pensions from all politicians convicted of corruption, limit outside income and conflicts of interests for legislators, limit the influence of big-money special interests, and make all “discretionary spending” fully transparent.
Ali Boak represents the change New York needs to shine a light on the rampant corruption and root it out."
