White Plains Man Charged With Unlawfully Collecting Unemployment

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A White Plains man was arrested Friday for unlawfully collecting over $9,800 of unemployment benefits while he was employed, according to New York State Police.

Federico Shephard, 48 collected the benefits between Feb. 6, 2012 and July 8, 2012. The arrest stemmed from a complaint received from the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division. He was charged with offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, a class E felony.

Shephard was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the City of White Plains Court Aug. 17.
