Stamford Police: Officers Found PCP On Man Charged With Urinating In Park

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A man well known to Stamford officers allegedly urinated in a park with children nearby, and after he was arrested Monday afternoon police said they found the drug PCP in his possession along with identification belonging to two other people, police said.

Everett Deshon Goethe, 34, of no fixed address, was charged with public indecency, risk of injury to a child, second-degree breach of peace and drug possession. He was held for a court appearance Tuesday as he couldn't make his $1,500 bond.

At 5 p.m., police received a call about a man who allegedly urinated in Southfield Park and was acting erratically. When officers, arrived they found the man sitting on a guard rail. Goethe has been charged in the past by police, Sgt. Simon Blanc said.

“Most of the officers are familiar with him because they have dealt with him,” he said.

When asked by officers what he was doing, Goethe told police he was simply in the park.

“He said he was doing nothing in the park. He was just there," Blanc said.

A police recruit who accompanied two officers to the scene patted Goethe down for weapons — and a small jar was found in his right front pocket, police said. Due to a strong chemical smell the officers suspected the jar contained the drug PCP, he said.

During a search of his property, officers discovered a pair of Department of Social Services cards belonging to another Stamford resident, police said. That individual had been arrested by Stamford Police last week on a drug charge.

Police also found a Connecticut ID card and a Department of Social Services card belonging to a second person, Blanc said. A person by that name was charged with a drug offense six years ago.

No explanation was given for Goethe possessing those pieces of identification, police said.

Goethe was initially uncooperative with police during the booking process as he refused to agree to a mugshot, to be fingerprinted, or to answer questions. A few hours later he cooperated with police, Blanc said.
