Pound Ridge Speeding Stop Leads To Misdemeanor Charge

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – A Mahopac man was charged last week after a traffic stop revealed his driver's license had been suspended, Pound Ridge police said.

While on patrol Friday evening, Dec. 7, an officer stopped a vehicle on Long Ridge Road for traveling 58 mph in a 40 mph zone, police said. A check with the Department of Motor Vehicles revealed that the driver’s license had been suspended.

Zachary McMahon, 20, was charged with third-degree aggravated unauthorized operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. He was also issued summonses for having an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate and speeding.

McMahon was released on $250 bail and is due Dec. 24 in Pound Ridge Town Court.

Identity Theft: A Westchester Avenue resident reported Monday, Dec. 10, that someone had tried to access the resident's accounts. Police took a report and the investigation remains open.
