Pound Ridge Police Charge Unlicensed Driver With Misdemeanor

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge police arrested a Stamford, Conn. man last week and charged him with third-degree aggravated unauthorized operation (AUO) of a motor vehicle; a misdemeanor.

Police said that while on patrol on Westchester Avenue on Friday, July 20, they pulled over a car for traveling 54 mph in a 30 mph zone. A DMV check revealed that the driver, Luis D. Farias, 32, had his driving privileges suspended in New York State, according to police.

Farias was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with third-degree AUO and issued a summons for speeding. He was released on $200 bail and is due back in court Aug. 20.

The following items were also reported by the Pound Ridge police:

On Friday, July 20, officers responded to a call of debris dumped on Upper Shad Road. Police arranged to have the debris removed.

Police responded to Twin Fawn Lane on Saturday, July 21 for a trespassing call. Police said the incident is under investigation and that they are not releasing any further information at this time.

A suspicious-incident report brought police to Heerdt Farm Lane on Saturday, July 21, after a homeowner reported an unknown person knocking on their door. Police said they canvassed the area with negative results.
