POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge police arrested a Bedford Hills woman on Sunday and charged her with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (first offense). It was the third week in a row police have made a drunken-driving arrest in town.
Officers stopped a vehicle on Pound Ridge Road for speeding and while speaking with the driver, Erin K. Sayegh, 22, they said they detected a “strong odor of alcohol.” Police said she failed field sobriety tests.
Sayegh was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing. She was also issued a summons for traveling 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. Sayegh was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court on July 23.
The following items were also reported by the Pound Ridge police:
DRUG ARREST: On June 15, police arrested a Stamford, Conn., man for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said they stopped a vehicle for speeding on Long Ridge Road around 11:20 p.m. While interviewing the driver, officers said they detected the smell of burnt marijuana. During the search of the vehicle, police discovered a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia. The driver was taken to police headquarters for processing. He was also issued a summons for traveling 63 mph in a 40 mph zone. He was released on $250 bail and is due back in court on July 23.
DISABLED VEHICLE: Police were called to Pine Drive on Friday on the report of a disabled vehicle. The vehicle was leaking gas. The Pound Ridge Fire Department also responded and the vehicle was towed.
