During the six-hour detail, troopers issued 10 tickets for speeding, three for seatbelt violations, 11 for drivers using their cell phones, 23 for failure to abide by the “move-over law” and eight for other vehicle and traffic offenses.
In total, 55 tickets were dished out to drivers during the detail. Last week, during a speed enforcement detail, state police issued a total of 68 tickets on the same stretch of roadway on I-684.
According to police, these details will continue throughout the summer months as troopers make an effort to curtail dangerous driving and keep highways safe for motorists.
