In advance of Thanksgiving, New York State Police conducted a special speed enforcement detail on the parkway Wednesday morning, which resulted in 29 tickets being dished out, 17 of which were for speeding.
All year long, state police has been focused on concentrated details aimed to curtail violations including speeding, cell phone use and safety restraints. Earlier this year, more than 100 tickets were issued, including multiple arrests.
According to police, these details will continue as troopers make an effort to curtail dangerous driving and keep highways safe for motorists.
