The Police Department plans on continuing the unannounced inspections since the Thanksgiving holiday is a popular time for bars and restaurants since college students have returned home, police said.
Proprietors holding liquor licenses are encouraged to instruct staff to require customers produce valid photo identification, together with verifying that the person providing the identification is the same person shown on the identification, police said.
Employees are also reminded that they will be held individually responsible if a person under 21 is found drinking illegally at any establishment.
