Jason Raffaeli, 24, formerly of Pound Ridge, N.Y., and now listed as residing at 44 Cold Spring Road, Apt. B, Stamford, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell marijuana and two conspiracy charges, police said. Raffaeli's bond was set at $10,000.

Asia C. James, 24, of 79B Taylor St., Stamford was arrested at the same time and charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime and one count each of sale of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Mauhammad Coree Oliver, 25, of 293 Fairfield Ave., Stamford, was charged with possession of marijuana and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Stamford police Capt. Richard Conklin said the Narcotics and Organized Crime unit was conducting surveillance on Raffaeli, who was driving a black Kia Optima. He entered the Cold Spring Road apartment and left a short time later, Conklin said.

Officers stopped the vehicle at Washington Boulevard and Main Street, he said. Officers smelled what they believed was marijuana, conducted a search of the vehicle and obtained a search warrant for the apartment, Conklin said. In all, officers discovered slightly more than a half-pound of marijuana, he said.

Conklin said the apartment appeared to be a "stash house" as it was very small and had little furniture in it.

Raffaeli suffered life-threatening injuries after he was shot multiple times when he and a friend were ambushed at about 12:30 a.m. July 22, police said at the time.

"It was quite a shootout," Conklin said in July about the exchange of gunfire in the area of Cedar and Henry Streets in the city's South End.

When officers arrived at the shooting scene, Raffaeli was lying in the roadway and was being comforted by his friend, Juan Peralta, 25, of 735 Cove Road, police said.

Peralta was charged with a number of firearms-related offenses in connection with the shooting.

A semi-automatic handgun and a revolver were recovered at the scene, police said. They were in the possession of the victim and Peralta, police said.
