Car Goes Off Pound Ridge Road After Driver Falls Asleep, Police Say

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- A driver who fell asleep at the wheel ended up in the tree tops Saturday after his car veered off the road, according to Pound Ridge Police Chief David Ryan.

Ryan said the driver, who was not injured, ended up in the trees about 50 yards off the roadway after falling asleep around 11:50 p.m. on Westchester Avenue.

The Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department responded and helped the driver out of the car before it was removed with help from Mike DeVito and Sal's Towing Center.
