Car Crashes, Domestic Disputes Among Bedford Police Reports

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Bedford police were kept busy during the week of March 13-19 with calls ranging from car crashes to domestic disputes, according to the Bedford Police.

On Monday, March 13, officers responded to a two-car crash on Cherry Street in Bedford Hills in which one vehicle had run into the back of another vehicle. No injuries were reported.

A couple of hours later officers responded to another crash on Bedford Road near Valerio Court where another vehicle had run into the back of another that was stopped in traffic. No injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, March 15, officers responded to a car fire in the lot of Bedford Hardware that was quickly extinguished by the Bedford Fire Department.

On Thursday, March 16, officers located the 18-year-old driver of a vehicle who was reported driving erratically on Bedford Road in Bedford Hills. The vehicle was located in the student parking lot of Fox Lane High School. The driver and his mother were contacted, and the teen said he would drive more carefully in the future.

On Friday, March 17, officers shot a sick or injured raccoon reported on Greenwich Road in Bedford 

On Saturday, March 18, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Ambler Road in Bedford. A husband and wife told police they had a verbal altercation. No injuries were reported. 

On Sunday, March 19, officers responded to another report of a domestic disturbance on High Street in Katonah. The dispute was said to have taken place between a father and a son, who left the house but was located shortly after by police at the Hunting Ridge Mall in Bedford Village. The son voluntarily agreed to go to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
