WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that the body found at the Glazier Preserve is that of Armonk's Miles Applebaum.

Applebaum, 21, was reported missing after he was last seen on Monday morning. A candlelight vigil was held for Applebaum on Thursday evening at Armonk's Wampus Brook Park, where his mother, Shari, implored him to return.

Later Thursday night, New Castle Police announced that a body found in the preserve, which is located in Chappaqua, was believed to be Applebaum. The body was found by a member of the state Forest Rangers, police said. Applebaum's vehicle was found at the preserve's parking lot on Wednesday, according to New Castle Police.

Applebaum's cause of death is not known, but at this time there is nothing that is suspicious, according to the Medical Examiner's office.

A funeral is scheduled for Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Congregation B'nai Yisrael, the synagogue announced in a Facebook post.

Congregation B'nai Yisrael, which is located in Armonk, is a place of significance for the family. Following the vigil, Shari Applebaum discussed teaching there, as well as the family's membership, which has been for about 14 years.
