To the editor:

Jody Sullivan is the epitome of “Community.” Few people have served the Pound Ridge community for as long and in as many ways as Jody. Her longstanding commitment to the town makes her an outstanding candidate for Town Council. Jody was one of the first people I met when I moved to Pound Ridge 37 years ago, and her spirit of service immediately impressed me.

As a newcomer herself, she began volunteering as a caregiver for preschool children, a precursor for what became Mothers’ Morning Out. Jody served the local schools, teaching at the Rippowam Cisqua School for seven years and then substitute teaching at Fox Lane for another 20 years. She also volunteered at the Fox Lane school store. She has served on every committee at the Pound Ridge Community Church, and is currently the Lay Leader and Administrative Council Chair.

Jody has been involved in numerous community organizations. She has served as a Monday night volunteer at the Library, an EMT for the Pound Ridge Ambulance Corps, an OEM volunteer, a member of the Pound Ridge Association, a Neighbor to Neighbor volunteer… I could go on and on. A call for help goes out and Jody is the first to respond.

For more than 39 years, Jody has helped to make Pound Ridge the place we all love, the community in which we wanted to raise our children. In her roles as the Pound Ridge Woman’s Republican Club Secretary and the Republican Town Committee District Leader, Jody has worked hard to support candidates for local office who share her commitment to Pound Ridge.

Jody is now a candidate for Pound Ridge Town Council herself. There is no one more committed to this community than Jody. She is respected by all who know her. Pound Ridge is fortunate to have her, and if elected to the Town Council, she will serve with honor and distinction for all residents.

Please join with me on Tuesday, Nov. 3 and vote for Jody Sullivan for Town Council.
