To the Editor:
I was born, raised and spent most of my life in Westchester County. I was fortunate to grow up in Larchmont during the 1970s and '80’s. I have the fondest of memories of that wonderful small town.
Larchmont today is still a nice place to live, however it’s a very different place. Over the past two decades Larchmont’s population has doubled, traffic and parking have become an issue as the town’s open land and green spaces have been developed.
Since 2002, I’ve lived in Pound Ridge -- along with my wife and two daughters -- another great small town in this county. I take great pride living here in one of the most beautiful and peaceful towns in the world. The residents of Pound Ridge live a mostly charmed life residing in a safe and quiet town that is steeped in tradition. My hope is that Pound Ridge continues to move into the future without losing any of its wonderful appeal. As I’ve witnessed, things can change rather quickly, and without the right leadership in our local government our bright future can be compromised. I am writing this letter today because I would like to endorse a person who is poised to lead our town toward that bright future.
Sherene DePalma is a natural leader. I consider her to be the ideal candidate for Pound Ridge Town Board. If elected, Sherene DePalma will be a major asset for our community. She has all the skills and savvy to move our town forward in the best ways while respecting Pound Ridge’s rich history.
I have known Ms. DePalma as a friend and neighbor for close to 10 years. She is without a doubt an active and upstanding member of our community.
I also know Ms. DePalma as a top-notch attorney and most trusted adviser. I’ve been a client of her law firm for many years — she is a winner and knows how to get the job done. Both in her personal life and her professional world she remains smart, hardworking, honest and generous — Sherene is the person you want in your corner when facing tough obstacles.
