To the Editor:
We waited 10 years for the perfect day and we finally got it. This year’s Pound Ridge Car Show was above any of our expectations. With a record 310 cars and 163 trophies, this was the best show so far. The compliments from car owners and spectators on what a great show it was, and that it was the best show that they ever attended, was overwhelming.
A big thank you goes to my fellow committee members Billy Fortin, Bob Snadowsky, Art Travis, and Kia Talia for putting this all together.
The biggest thanks goes to all of you that worked and made the day such a success. The crew at the food tent never stopped all day and kept the line moving. The field parking and registration team was pushed to the limit, but they made it work and found a place for 310 cars. Tony Russo squeezed all of the vendors in a thin row so we had room for our intended 300 cars.
The silent auction team did a great job and raised $5,500. The T-shirt table again sold out and made sure everyone had a shirt before they left, plus there were two offers to buy the shirt that Caroline was wearing.
DJ Sammy provided the great music all day. The Pound Ridge Maintenance Department helped all day by keeping the field clean and setting up.
We did a great job. All of this work will benefit this year’s two recipients of this year’s car show – the Pound Ridge Lions Club (which did a fantastic job parking all of the spectators between the Town Park and town house parking lots) and the Northern Westchester Hospital Center.
Again, thank you for a great show.
