Robert Vincent Jr., 74, Of Pound Ridge, Attorney

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Robert C. Vincent Jr. of Pound Ridge and Florence, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 12, in Greenwich, Conn., from complications related to cancer treatment. He was 74.

Vincent graduated from Dartmouth College in 1961 and Columbia Law School in 1965. He retired as a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York City and was recently serving as counsel for Gellert & Klein PC.

He was a past director and board chairman of Barclays Bank of New York and a director of several other companies, including the National Securities Corp., Mercantile & General Reinsurance Co. of America and First Westchester National Bank.

Vincent is survived by his wife, Karin; three children, Page Vincent, Caroline (Oscar) Mockridge and Robert (Elise) Vincent III; three stepsons, Erik, Tore and Rolf Carlson; nine grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; two siblings, Wendy Townsend and Roger Vincent; and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Vincent and Maureen Vincent. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Vincent, in 1993; and a brother, Peter Vincent, in 2006.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Bedford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dartmouth College, ASD Office, 105 Wentworth Hall, Hanover, NH 03755.
