POUND RIDGE, N.Y. There will be a memorial service for Deborah Healy-Seidlitz, who died Friday evening from injuries she sustained when she was hit by car in Bedford, at 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Meadow at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, routes 35 and 121 South in Cross River.
Police say Healy-Seidlitz, 49, was struck and killed by a car in front of Truck restaurant on Old Post Road at around 7:39 p.m. The accident still is being investigated.
Healy-Seidlitz was born July 31, 1963, in Monmouth, N.J., to Donald Healy and Rhonda Lederman.
For the past 20 years, she worked as a licensed massage therapist. She recently returned to school, attending Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service. Earlier this year, she graduated and received her LMSW. She will be remembered as loving, caring, nurturing and generous.
She was a devoted wife and mother of two and excelled at gardening, cooking, art, and interior decorating. She was involved in local charity work and always was helping others. She once described herself as a "perpetual student of life." She also was a true animal lover and leaves behind her treasured pets Remy and Finian.
Healy-Seidltiz is survived by her husband, Richard Seidlitz; a daughter, Hannah Seidlitz; a son, Andrew Seidlitz, of Pound Ridge; her parents, Donald Healy, of North Salem, and Rhonda Lederman, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and sisters, Karen Haber, of Yorktown Heights, and Melissa Alpern, of Golden's Bridge. She also is survived by her extended family and a large community of friends.
