Joshua G. Indorf, Jr., 16, a lifelong area resident, died on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

J.R. was born on April 11, 2001 in Poughkeepsie. He was a junior at Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappingers Falls. J.R. competed in motocross racing as #72. He also liked to repair trucks, and was looking forward to a career as a diesel mechanic. J.R. was always telling everyone to smile, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends more than anything.

He is survived by his parents, Joshua G. and Marlena (Rama) Indorf; his younger brother, James Indorf; his grandparents, W. Grant Indorf and Linda and Robert Knueppel; his aunts and uncles, Christina Rama and Kami Rowan, Elizabeth and Kevin Oviedo, and Dorothy Rama and Bill Bills; his cousins, Emma and Bella Oviedo, and Renee, Fred, Deanna, and Freddie Schlott; and many friends. J.R. was predeceased by his grandfather, Charles Rama; his grandmother, Rosalie Rivera; and his aunt, Regina Rama.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 3 p.m. to  7 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 6 from 11 a.m. to noon at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The funeral service will be held on Monday at noon at the funeral home.

Donations may be made towards The Joshua Indorf Scholarship Fund for a graduating student aspiring to become a mechanic. Checks may be made payable to Roy C. Ketcham High School, 99 Myers Corners Road, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
