Woman Arrested for Unlawful Possession of Alcohol

POUND RIDGE – Police arrested a 20-year-old Bedford woman Saturday for illegally having alcohol in her car.

Lisa Barish, 20, was stopped on Old Pound Road on a reckless driving complaint and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21. She was also cited for having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed and Barish was remanded to the custody of her father. She is due back in Pound Ridge Court July 18.

-Police responded to Pound Ridge Road Wednesday for a report of a road rage incident involving a motorcycle. No further details were made available.

-Police were called to Indian Hill Road Thursday for a criminal mischief complaint and the report of a damaged mailbox.

-Police responded to an Upper Shad Road residence Thursday for a fire alarm that was set off from cooking. There were no problems when police arrived.

-Police responded to a Buck Hill Lane home Saturday after receiving a suspicious person call. The homeowner reported that a Fed-Ex truck came to the house for a pick-up however the driver was informed that no pick-up had been scheduled. The homeowner was concerned because the driver had no further information.

-Police got a call from a resident on Eastwoods Road Sunday about a “whirring” noise coming from the distance for the past day. An investigation revealed that a neighbor’s pool pump had become inoperable and was creating the noise. Police advised the homeowner of the problem.

-While on patrol, officers heard fireworks Monday and spoke to a homeowner on Tatomuck Road. Officers told the residents that fireworks were illegal in New York State and that they needed to stop shooting them off immediately. The homeowner complied.
