The weatherman is calling for unseasonably warm temperatures this weekend so if youve had to postpone a trip to the ski slopes, dont fret theres plenty to do in the area this weekend for both kids and adults.

Marielas Wine & Espresso Bar in Pound Ridge presents live jazz on Friday nights at 8 p.m. This Friday, the featured artist is The Doug Proper Trio. Reading Dream, a nonprofit organization that sends books to children and schools that need them will hold a Winter Wonderland fundraiser at the Cyrus Russell House from 1-3 p.m. There will be handmade crafts and baked goods for sale and face painting and games for the kids. There will be a Nature Crafts for Kids program at the Trailside Nature Museum in the Ward Pound Ridge Preservation at 1 p.m. Kids will take a walk outdoors and then head back in to make nature crafts. The Ridgefield Theater Barn in Ridgefield, Conn., is bringing back improv comedy night featuring the comedy troupe Whose Barn is it Anyway.
