The weatherman is calling for unseasonably warm temperatures this weekend so if you’ve had to postpone a trip to the ski slopes, don’t fret – there’s plenty to do in the area this weekend for both kids and adults.

Kids can partake in nature crafts and face painting, while the adults can enjoy live jazz or improv comedy. Check out what’s happening:

Friday

Mariela’s Wine & Espresso Bar in Pound Ridge presents live jazz on Friday nights at 8 p.m. This Friday, the featured artist is The Doug Proper Trio. Saturday

Reading Dream, a nonprofit organization that sends books to children and schools that need them will hold a Winter Wonderland fundraiser at the Cyrus Russell House from 1-3 p.m. There will be handmade crafts and baked goods for sale and face painting and games for the kids. There will be a Nature Crafts for Kids program at the Trailside Nature Museum in the Ward Pound Ridge Preservation at 1 p.m. Kids will take a walk outdoors and then head back in to make nature crafts. The Ridgefield Theater Barn in Ridgefield, Conn., is bringing back improv comedy night featuring the comedy troupe Whose Barn is it Anyway. It will be a night of original comedy and sketches, however, parental discretion is advised. Tickets are $22. The theater is located at 37 Halpin Lane.
