The law, which is already operating in White Plains and has been discussed in Peekskill, will affect any city store that sells alcohol, pharmacies, pawn shops, precious metal dealers, check-cashing businesses and any stores that operate between midnight and 4 a.m., lohud said.

According to the report, the law is part of a growing movement across the country to require certain businesses to use digital technology for the means of security. Cities like San Francisco, Milwaukee and Chicago all have passed similar measures, the story said.
