Volunteer EMT's, Drivers Wanted For Pound Ridge Ambulance Corps

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – The Pound Ridge Lions Volunteer Ambulance Corps is in need of volunteer drivers and certified Emergency Medical Technicians to work day-time shifts at its central location on Westchester Avenue.“We're always looking for volunteers” said Captain Marty Kremer.  “It's an interesting volunteer job, though not everyone can handle it emotionally.” Emergency Services has been answering the call of the Pound Ridge community for years. Now, it is asking the community to answer its volunteer 911 call. Those who would like to volunteer as an Emergency Medical Technician must be certified or willing to go through the four month training program to become certified.  “All we require is the will to help out the community by volunteering. If you've got the time and drive, we will train anyone so they are able to join our team,” said Kremer. Prior experience for drivers is not required, though a valid driver’s license is necessary. Free training will be provided for all volunteers by the Pound Ridge Emergency Services department during once-a-month meetings.  The 25-person, all-volunteer team needs help not only during day-time shifts, but during all shifts to power its two ambulance groups. The Pound Ridge Lions Volunteer Ambulance Corp is funded only by contributions and receives no governmental funding, yet remains dedicated to providing excellent service around the clock, Kremer said.
