Pound Ridge Police Ticket Three Speeders

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge police continued their crackdown on speeding within the town limits as they issued three summonses this week. They issued a fourth to a motorist who was driving a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker.

On Thursday, April 5, police issued a ticket to a motorist on High Ridge Road for traveling 58 mph in a 40 mph zone. In an area where police have said speeding is a particular problem – Westchester Avenue – officers issued a summons to a driver on Saturday for going 56 mph in a 30 mph zone, and another on Sunday to motorist for going 63 mph in a 30 mph zone. The ticket for the expired inspection sticker was issued to a motorist on Long Ridge Road on Friday.

The following were also reported by the Pound Ridge police:

Suspicious Person: Police were called to West Lane on Wednesday, April 4, for a reported suspicious person. Officers discovered that it was a NYSEG subcontractor who was checking for stray voltage readings. The proper ID was given and no further problems were reported.

Rock Blocked: Police received a report of debris blocking the roadway on Westchester Avenue on Saturday. The highway department was notified and the debris was removed.

Neighbor Dispute: Police were summoned to a residence on London Road on Sunday for a reported neighbor dispute, as a result of debris being dumped on the property. Officers were able to resolve the issue with no further problems.

Suspicious Vehicle : A resident on Landt Lane called police to report a suspicious truck. Officers discovered the vehicle belonged to a landscaper who was working on a neighbor’s property. The truck was moved and no further problems were reported.

Property Damage: Police received a report on Monday of an unknown car that hit a number post in front of home on Salem Road, causing damage.
