Pound Ridge Library Hosts Events For Teens, Children

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Pound Ridge Library hosts events for children throughout the year.

A list of events, times and locations is below.

Teens:

Mother/Daughter Book Group (Grades 6-8): Monthly on Thursdays, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Next Meeting: Thursday, Jan. 30. Discussion and snacks. Book: "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner

Teen Sci-Fi and More Book Group (Grades 10-12):  Bimonthly on Fridays, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Next Meeting: Friday, Feb. 7. Discussion and snacks. Book: "Life as We Knew It" by Susan Beth Pfeffer

Teen Night (Grades 6-12):  Monthly on Fridays, 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28: Cupcake Decorating Use your creativity to create tasty treats.

Weekly Programs For Children:

Moms and Tots Story Time (2-year-olds, with parent or caregiver) Tuesdays, 10:45 a.m., beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1

Story Hour (3 to 5-year-olds): Tuesdays, 4 p.m., beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1

Mother Goose Story Time: (12-24-months-old, with parent or caregiver): Thursday, 10:45 a.m., beginning Wednesday, Oct 1.

Fun with Music with Kevin McCarthy: (Ages 5 and under), Fridays, 11 a.m.

Chess at the Library (Ages 5 and up) Fridays, 3:30 p.m.

Eager Eaters, a Book Group for Third Graders: Meets monthly on Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Next Meeting: Thursday, Feb. 13  Pizza and Juice available. Book: "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney

Dinner and A Book, a book group for grades 4-5. Monthly on Tuesdays, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Next Meeting: Tuesday, Feb. 25. Pizza and Juice provided. Book: "My Life As a Fifth Grade Comedian" by Elizabeth Levy.
