POUND RIDGE, N.Y. The Pound Ridge Democratic Committee hosted it third annual Valentines fundraising dinner at North Star Restaurant in Pound Ridge last week, which provided party members with an opportunity to meet its newest committee members, candidates, and spend time getting to know each other.
It was an opportunity for us to get together and just talk, said Roslyn Stone-Pollock, chair of the Pound Ridge Democratic Committee. We didnt have official guest speakers or an agenda. But there was a five-course tasting meal with breaks in between and that gave us time to talk and address everyone.
The sold out event was attended by many local Democrats including County Legislator Peter Harckham (D-Katonah). Several candidates for the upcoming November elections were on hand, including four judicial aspirants for county court that included David Zuckerberg, Alex Eismann, Hon. Ron Stokes, who is chair of the Yorktown Democratic Committee, and Hon. Kevin Quaranta, who is the Bedford town justice. Also in attendance was Jeremiah Frei-Pearson, who is seeking the Democratic nomination to run for state assembly in the 89th district. His challenger, David Buchwald, who couldn't attend, was represented by Liz Shollenberger, chair of the White Plains Democratic Committee.
During the evening, Stone-Pollock, gave a brief overview on the forward momentum of Democrats locally and regionally and newly elected Pound Ridge Town Board member Ali Boak spoke about her first experiences as a member of the board.
The attendees also were introduced to the Pound Ridge Democratic Committees two new district leaders, Michael Daglio and Sherene DePalma. They join Tara Packer, Elyse Arnow, Ira Clair, Mark Slivka and Rob Ades on the committee
Overall, the evening was a huge success, said Stone-Pollock. Good food, good friends, good conversation and all benefiting the PRDC.
