Pound Ridge Day Camp Starts Summer Fun June 27

For kids attending Pound Ridge Day Camp, summer will officially begin June 27 when the fun gets underway.

The camp, for children in kindergarten through seventh grade, begins June 27 and runs through August 5. The program is held at Town Park and is reversed for Pound Ridge residents.

Camp is offered as a six-week program and registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis. The camp provides a variety of non-competitive activities and is designed to foster personal growth, physical fitness, group responsibility and independence in a safe, well-supervised setting.

Activities include baseball, field games, swimming, tennis, arts and crafts, sand volleyball, nature and science and dance.

Special events such as pizza/ice pop days, the summer carnival sponsored by the Pound Ridge Police Benevolent Association, guest entertainers and field trips round out the program. Certain activities require an additional fee.

The Day Camp has arranged field trips for all campers each Friday and there is no camp at the Town Park on those days. Register early for trips so staffing arrangements can be made. Parent volunteers are welcomed for children in kindergarten and first grade. However, transportation and costs are not provided for non-staff chaperones.

This year’s field trips include:

July 1: Grand Prix, Mt. Kisco - $55, includes lunch

July 8: Rock Climbing, Valhalla - $40, no lunch

July 15: Splashdown, Fishkill - $40, no lunch

July 29: LIFE The Place to Be, Ardsley - $40, includes lunch
