Pound Ridge Cops Say Man Drove With Suspended License

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge police arrested a Katonah man last week and charged him with driving with a suspended license.

Officers pulled over Andrew Kerchoff for speeding and a subsequent DMV check revealed that his New York State driving privileges were suspended. He was issued summonses for speeding and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Kerchoff was released on $200 bail and is scheduled to appear back in Pound Ridge Town Court on March 5.

In other police blotter news:

FEB. 2

Police received a suspicious person report of a person going door to door on Benger Road. Police discovered it was a Verizon employee with the proper permits and no further problems were reported.

FEB. 3

Police received a report of a truck blocking Upper Shad Road. Officers checked the area, but no truck was found.

Police issued tickets to two different motorists on Salem Road for not obeying a “No Right Hand Turn, Weekdays, 5-8 p.m.” sign.

FEB. 4

Police ticketed a motorist for going 47 mph in a 30 mph zone on Westchester Avenue.

FEB. 5

Police responded to a one-car accident on High Ridge Road. The vehicle had struck a utility pole that had fallen in the roadway. A passenger was transported to Stamford Hospital and the vehicle was towed.

Police ticketed a motorist on Westchester Avenue for driving without a license.

FEB. 6

Police received three different complaints of a suspicious vehicle/person (Fox Hill Road, Hack Green Road, Long Ridge Road). Officers discovered it was a Verizon employee and reported no further problems.
